Health Resorts and Therapeutic Bliss
Thailand finds itself in the middle of a Spa boom and Koh Samui is no exception to this. Koh Samui is fast becoming known as the health centre of the region. There are many excellent spas across the island which can truly be referred to as “world class”.
On entering one of the increasing numbers of spa’s you’ll immediately feel special, as the pampering starts on arrival. You will be made to feel good in one way or another with the vast choice of treatments which can include traditional Thai massage, reflexology, yoga, tai-chi and aromatherapy along with a host of health programs such as colonic cleansing, weight loss, fasting and detoxification. Your skin can also have a full service with a choice of face-packs, foot-packs, body-wraps and steam baths to fully revitalize and cleanse. Your spiritual awareness is also attended to with a variety of meditation classes. Wherever you go you will enjoy a service that caters to your every need. The treatments run from 30 minutes to nine days, but the average is between 2-5 hours allowing you time to escape and unwind.
With Samui’s reputation as a health destination flourishing - the need to define what a spa really is and what guests should expect resulted in an island Association of Spa’s. The Samui Spa Association ensures all spa members are run according to certain standards of quality, cleanliness, ethics and safety. The Association also assists in the training for individual therapists and Spa operators.
If visiting a spa is not on your holiday plan, then a must has to be experiencing a massage on the beach. Listen to the sound of the sea lapping the shore under a warm gentle breeze; leaving you feeling relaxed for the rest of your holiday.
Whether you choose a spa with one of the many treatments available, or a relaxing beach massage you can be sure of a magical experience that you will remember long after your holiday has finished
