| Travel and Weather How to get to Koh Samui
Getting to and from Koh Samui has never been easier or more pleasurable. Bangkok Airways has between 15 – 20 flights per day depending on the day of the week, to take you straight from Bangkok to Koh Samui; the flight takes about one hour and 10 minutes. Flights are also available with Bangkok Airways to Koh Samui from Phuket, Pattaya, Krabi and Singapore. From the minute you arrive at Koh Samui airport, which must rate in charm and floral splendor as amongst the finest in the world, you will be caught in the magic of the island.

If you prefer, another great way to travel is the night train from Bangkok railway station to Suratthani. From Surattani Koh Samui is a short ferry trip away taking you straight to Nathon and only 2km from our villa. Alternatively a ferry from Don Sak, a small village on the mainland near Surattani, will take you directly to the ferry port in Lipa Noi.
If you want a more economical way to travel, you could take the bus from the southern bus terminal at Boromrat Chonnani Road in Bangkok. Tickets can be bought in any of the travel agencies and the ferry is often included.
Climate

January - February is the cool season; temperatures average a pleasant 79°F, 26°C. This is generally the best time to visit as it is not too hot.
March - May is the hot season, the temperature starts warming up, it has been known to reach 40°C There is generally less rain during these months.
June - September generally speaking, between these months, most days will be filled with sunshine, except for the occasional downpour, which usually doesn't last long.
October - December frequent showers come in October, and last until sometime around mid December, when the weather generally clears up with extended periods of dry and often sunny weather. Water sports enthusiasts should note that the sea can get rough at this time, and visibility can be affected.
The above information acts as a general guide of the normal weather patterns, and there are always exceptions to the rule - storms in the dry season or weeks of dry weather in the wet season.
